to me this kinda looks like a jester's cap pattern. a party with streamers and lots of movement. so ok, if you buy that the fractal kinda has the shapes of jester's caps - that 'blank' in the center is just that - a blank. it's waiting for purpose. :-) that's why this image is entitled "Unconciousness"
