this is the 'Golden Aelder Fae' illustration i did for Phil Brucato's Deliria project. she was to be the cover of the book about the Aelders... sadly, it never happend - the book, i mean. anyway this was such a fun project that i created dozens of 'variations and offshoots' - exploring so many different things as only digital media will let you do so rapidly.
here is a close up of the Golden Aelder Fae. lots of details here as we're really taking advantage of the intricate nature of fractals.

this is one of the myriad variants i came up with while on this project. i really really like the enigmatic little smirk she's got going. this is pretty much the same character that i used for the entire 'Golden Fae' series -- little tweak here, shift the camera a bit there... and voila! we've got a whole new game!
