wow wow, this is an oldy-moldy circa 1995. man, i don't think the internet was
even around back then!
we used FRACTINT! to render this original popcorn julia fractal.
as i recall, this baby took my poor machine a few days to render out to any size large
enough to make a decent print.
so this is kinda where it all started for me when my fascination for fractals
collided with my love of fiddling with artsy-fartsy endeavors. in this case, the
'wave' portion of the fractal design reminded me of a horsehead, so that's what
i drew. the rest is history. since then i've been 'seeing' things in fractals and
loving every minute of it!
just playing around with different coloring schemes. this one is a bit calmer than the original.
